Biografia

Natural de Lagos, completou em 2009 a licenciatura de cinco anos Pintura - Artes Plásticas, da Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa.

Participou no programa Erasmus em 2008, foi por seis meses para Helsínquia, frequentou cursos na School of Arts, Design and Architecture, na Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, e na Sibelius Music Academy.

Em 2009 mudou-se para Berlim; no mesmo ano faz parte do comité de direção e da equipa da Associazione 22:37, associação cultural sem fins lucrativos sediada em Veneza.

Em 2011 foi selecionado para a residência artística da FAAP- Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, mas por razões de saúde não pôde comparecer.

Realizou a sua primeira exposição individual em 2003 num espaço de arte de uma das cafetarias do Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, e desde então tem participado regularmente em exposições coletivas, projetos artísticos e residências artísticas em várias cidades europeias.

Finalista na competição internacional da XVIII Bienal de Cerveira, 2015; semifinalista no Open Design Italia 2016, na categoria de design de comunicação; e pré-selecionado no Arte Laguna Prize 2017, na categoria de arte virtual.

Conceptualizou o projeto transdisciplinar “SAN FELICE” e em julho de 2016 organizou o “Evento Solidale San Felice” em Vicenza; colaborando com Città Solidale Cooperativa Sociale e Associazione 22:37.

Selecionado pela equipa curatorial do Museu Municipal Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso para participar na JCE, Jeune Création Européenne, Biennale de Arte Contemporânea 2017 - 2019.

De setembro de 2017 a junho de 2018 ensinou artes plásticas a crianças de 6 e 7 anos, como atividade extracurricular, na Escola de Santa Maria em Lagos, Portugal.

Em 2018 organizou a celebração "apneia do plástico" no Espaço Jovem, Lagos; colaborando com a Escola Básica do 1º ciclo de Santa Maria, o Agrupamento de Escolas Júlio Dantas, e o Município de Lagos.

De 2021 até 2024 deu aulas de desenho no Centro de Estudos de Lagos - Universidade Sénior.

Em 2024 organizou e fez a curadoria da exposição “Oásis” no Centro Cultural de Lagos; colaborando com o Centro Cultural de Lagos e o Centro de Estudos de Lagos- Universidade Sénior.

Biography

Born in Lagos, Portugal.

Completed in 2009 the five years degree in Painting- Fine Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon.

Participated in the Erasmus program in 2008, went for six months to Helsinki, took courses at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, and Sibelius Music Academy.

In 2009 moved to Berlin, became part of the steering committee and team member of Associazione 22:37, non-profit cultural association based in Venice.

In 2011 was selected for FAAP- Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado artistic residency in São Paulo, but did not attend due to health issues.

Had his first solo exhibition in 2003 at an art space in one of the cafeterias at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, and since then has participated regularly in group exhibitions, art projects, and artist residencies in several European cities.

Finalist in the International Competition of the XVIII Bienal de Cerveira, 2015; semifinalist in Open Design Italia 2016, in the category of communication design; and shortlisted in Premio Arte Laguna 2017 in the category of virtual art.

Conceptualized the transdisciplinary project “SAN FELICE” and in July 2016 organized the “Evento Solidale San Felice” in Vicenza; collaborating with Città Solidale Cooperativa Sociale and Associazione 22:37.

Selected by the curatorial team of Museu Municipal Amadeo de Souza- Cardoso to participate in JCE, Jeune Création Européenne, Biennale of Contemporary Art 2017-2019.

From September 2017 to June 2018 taught artistic expression to 6 and 7 years old, as extra curricular activity, in Escola de Santa Maria, one of Lagos primary schools.
