In this series of studies exploring the intersection of public space and mobility, the concept of platforms—both literal and metaphorical—emerges as a powerful lens through which we view and experience our shared environments. Elevated platforms, rising above the ground, shift our perspective, inviting us to reconsider the relationship between the private and the public. They transform the act of moving through space, suggesting a new way of inhabiting cities, where individuals are not merely passing through but floating above, observing, and engaging with the world below. These studies provoke questions about access, power, and control, as they reflect the tension between openness and enclosure, movement and stillness. In this elevated space, we are reminded that public mobility is not just a function of movement—it is an opportunity for connection, observation, and a redefinition of our roles in the urban landscape.
